Called Nopales, are approximately 114 known species endemic to Mexico, which makes it a common ingredient in Mexican cuisine. They have a high content of manganese, vitamin C, magnesium and calcium as well as a high source of fibre. Can be used in many ways, whether in juice, smoothies, soup, main courses or desserts. It can be eaten cooked, roasted or raw; however, when we consume it raw, we obtain a greater contribution of vitamin C. It is considered a super food due to its properties. Cactus is full of antioxidants and is able to reduce oxidative stress and some research indicates that nopal cactus can decrease and regulate blood sugar. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and humidity. Once opened, keep refrigerated for up to one week.
