Dafruta cashew concentrate/nectar comes from the cashew apple. The cashew apple, also called cashew fruit, is the fleshy part of the cashew fruit that is attached to the cashew nut. The top end of the cashew apple is attached to the stem that comes off the tree. The bottom end of the cashew apple attaches to the cashew nut, which is encased in a shell. In botanical terms, the cashew apple is an accessory fruit that grows on the cashew seed (which is the nut). It is edible, and has a strong “sweet” smell and a sweet taste. The pulp of the cashew apple is very juicy, but the skin is fragile, making it unsuitable for transport.
Dafruta Cashew Concentrate makes up to 1 gallon of juice: just add water and sugar. Since you make the juice you can decide how much or little sugar to use and you can use the sweetener of your choice. Dafruta Cashew concentrate juice is gluten free, pasteurised, Kosher and high in Vitamin C.
Suggested mixing directions:1 part Dafruta Cashew concentrate, 7 parts water, Sugar or sweetener to taste.
