Chulpi corn (Peruvian pop corn) is a variety of corn with a small grain and sweet taste, for which it is known and appreciated. It is consumed roasted as an accompaniment to meals or as an aperitif. This variety of corn is typical of Andean gastronomy, mainly from Peru. It is rich in carbohydrates, proteins, and some minerals such as magnesium. When eaten roasted, Chulpi is also known as Cancha tostada.

Preparation: Bring a frying pan with a little oil to low heat, the chulpi corn kernels are added with a little salt. They are stirred constantly until the corn turns golden brown and stops popping.
