NOBLEZA GAUCHA Yerba Mate 500g
Yerba Mate NOBLEZA GAUCHA, Mate Tea, 500g Pack
Nobleza Gaucha Azul is a yerba mate with a smooth flavor. It is produced by the Argentinian company Molinos, which also produces the well-known brand CRUZ DE MALTA.
Yerba mate is used to prepare mate tea. When served cold, it is called tereré. Mate tea is traditionally consumed in South America but is also popular in Syria and Lebanon.
Yerba mate translates to "mate herb," with the word mate originally derived from the Quechua word 'mati,' a complex word with multiple meanings. 'Mati' can mean, among other things, "container for a beverage," "infusion of an herb," and "gourd." The infusion is drunk from a container (typically a gourd) that is filled up to three-quarters full with dry leaves (and stems) of the yerba mate plant. The leaves are steeped in water at a temperature of 70-80 °C.
Depending on the country, the gourd is also called a guampa, porongo, or cuia. It is drunk through a special metal straw (bombilla in Spanish, bomba in Portuguese). The gourd is passed from person to person (usually in a circle) and refilled.
